Insecurity is NOT the Key

We are all unique. These words may be simple, or often heard by many… but the simplicity of it has the power to pull us back to our tracks.

Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving present your requests to God.”
1 Corinthians 10:14
“Therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry.”
Ephesians 6:10 “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.”

Insecurity is very common to us, girls, but I want you to know that it will not make you better. It will slowly eat you up, and sooner or later, you’ll find yourself in a being that is not you. It’s okay to take inspirations from other people, but we should always remember that we have our own identity — own walk, dreams, plans, and desires in our hearts.

The main thing about staying as we are (“be yourself” mantra) is to know our identity and roots. We may be surrounded by people who make big names, or who are known to many but that shouldn’t shake us or make us feel that we aren’t getting anywhere. Life is a long travel, and there will be tough times: where we don’t succeed, get accepted, or whatever, but it doesn’t mean that it will end just like that.

I admit, often times, I get too overwhelmed by the things I see in social medias and sure, it can really make me want to be like them as well but then, I always go back to who I really am and what I really want to be. ‘Cause if I’m going to focus on who they are, then I’m going to be pursuing a path that leads to where they are, and not of who I should and really could be.

If you’re struggling to find your identity, realign your thoughts first and then slowly figure things out. You don’t have to rush, you have your whole life to figure it out. Just remember that people will love you more if you are true, and if they don’t, then God will help them learn to love you for who you are (or change you for the better).

Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing, and perfect will.”

So what if they have clear skin? You are beautiful.
So what if they have all the things you can’t afford? You are beautiful.
So what if they have long legs or sexy body? You are beautiful.
So what if they can sing, dance, act, or do sports? You are beautiful.
So what if they have tons of followers or likes? You are beautiful.
So what if you can’t be like them? You are still beautiful.

You are beautiful regardless of what you think about yourself. You are beautiful because that’s what God sees. You are beautiful because you are rooted in and created by Him.

Insecurity is not the key to beauty.

Of everything in between,
Danielle. x
